Stupid flu

Brielle came home from school sick on Monday. I called our doctor's office and the nurse said it sounded like a virus and she would be better in a few days.
Yesterday, she was getting worse so I took her to the doctor. You guessed it, she's got the flu and she's too far into it to treat it so we just need to wait it out.

The poor kid has been so miserable, but worse than that, she's incredibly bored! She even had me email her teacher to ask for her homework so she would have something to do besides watch TV.

The rest of us have been washing our hands and using hand sanitizer (or sand hanitizer as some of us prefer to call it) like crazy, I follow her around and wipe down everything she touches with clorox wipes. We've been using disinfectant spray on everything. Max won't get within 10 feet of her because "SHE HAS GERMS ALL OVER HER!"
Instead of hugging her, we "throw hugs" across the room to her. (except for me, I can't go without hugging my little girl)

We've been doing everything we can think of to keep this thing from spreading. Seriously, I don't have time to get sick!

Today she's feeling a bit better, (Hooray!) however here's the real question.

When do you think the rest of us will get it?

Leave your guesses in the comments. The winner will get the privilege of bringing us dinner for a few nights ;0)

Can I guess multiple times? Meaning, you will be getting it throughout the school year.

Flu is no fun at all - yep, even homework is better.

I'd bring you dinner without being the winner, if only I could. I think it would get a bit cold after crossing the Pacific.

We are just trying to get over this crap! Working at a school is going to kill me!

One of you will have it by Saturday!

If you bring me dinner, I will bring you dinner (it will probably be just left overs of what you brought)

But which one? The seasonal flu or the swine variety?

And you're all doomed....even with the magical power of Clorox wipes...

#5, Richie has type A flu, probably swine flu and was diagnosed today. I wonder how many of us will get it and how many of his classmates he may have infected monday?

Stupid Flu..is right! I'm sorry you have a sick one!

My guess is that you someone in your house will begin to feel icky somewhere around tomorrow afternoon. If Brielle has been sick since Monday, thats about right..for perfect exposure to others..which is 3 days. Give or take 1. What do you guys like to eat?

I'm late in commenting so my guess is right now. We're all getting it and it sucks. Boo.

Well if everyone has been avoiding hugs except for you, then you will get it sooner than the rest of the fam. I am guessing tomorrow night, or Saturday morning.

I hope you all avoid it as much as possible, and if you do get it, that it isn't for a long duration!

You will get it 2 to 5 days, because I have it too and I'm commenting on your blog. Bahahaha.

I say that you will get it after everyone else has had it. They will feel terrific. And you, you will feel lousy but can't relish in it because they all feel so good. So expect the nasty flu in about 7 days. That should be enough time for everyone else to have it and be over with it.

sorry about that! Yeah, I give y'all a week lol My dh came down with a throwing up virus and within the week everyone had it except me, the baby and my 15 year old. Still not completely confident we are out of the woods yet : O

Oh, I hate getting sick. And I hope that your germ killing crusade works, because it sounds very familiar to my strategies.

Some people at my house call it Sand Hanitizer too!!!

It takes 24 to 48 hours for the flu germs to incubate in your system...drink lots of warm/hot beverages to rinse the germs down into your stomach where they cannot survive. Gargle with salt water and spit to rid your throat of the little germies...they can't live in saline. Blow your nose strongly at least twice a day and swab the inside of your nostrils with saline solution or use a neti pot to rinse your nasal passages. Avoid touching your face when you can help it and wash hands regularly at least for the length of Happy Birthday X 2. With good hygine, good vitamins, and a lot of prayer...the rest of you may escape unscathed.
Blessings!

I hope not. I bless all families with the ability to dodge as many viruses (viri?) and bacteria as possible.

On a completely unrelated note, I was at a local book/toy store today and they had these kits with a bit of sand in the bottom (like the miniature zen gardens for desks) and a garbage truck and recycle bin, etc. I thought of Max.

(PS - is if fate that my WV is meddac (which makes me think medic)?)

The doctor told us it has an incubation period of 1-2 days, so you should all be fine. Hopefully!
