A weighty issue

Every year at Christmas time, I will make a 5 pound batch of fudge, give most of it away, (OK, some of it) and I will gain 10 pounds.

This year, I didn't make any fudge, nor did we get any treats from the neighbors, and I gained 5 pounds.

If tomorrow, I make 10 pounds of fudge, give away 8 pounds to the neighbors, will I lose 2 pounds, or will the neighbors just think I'm strange?

Or, if I make 15 pounds of fudge, give away 12, will I gain 3 pounds, have the neighbors think I'm strange and spend the next few weeks on the treadmill while watching re-runs of The Biggest Loser.

Or, should I just get myself a big bowl of ice cream (with homemade fudge sauce) sit in my comfortable chair and eat it while watching The Biggest Loser.

Will Jillian scream at me through my television?

If I sent her 15 pounds of fudge, would she shut up?

What do you think?

Ugh. I'm sorry.

I'm pretty sure your math is right in all of those examples. Just pick one and go with it.

I'm having horrible flashbacks from middle school math class!

And no, Jillian wouldn't shut up.

I completely understand the math and the weight gain. Why is it so hard to keep off those lbs? I wish I could say it's not alarming, but I'm panicked...First it was too hot to walk and now it's too cold. UGH!

If I lived near year, I'd say definitely go with the 15 lbs of fudge, but at last I don't so it is your choice.

Jillian won't shut up this season, but it is her last so I wouldn't worry about her.

Have a great new year.

My dad literally did an ice cream diet when he was in college, and lost a bunch of weight. Why have I not done this?

Also, I can't WAIT for BL this season. I've never watched, but Rulon is up. Let the judging begin.

I don't think anything will make Jilliam shutup, but it is worth a try!!!

I think the ice cream could work. I saw some professor had done a twinkie/hoho diet recently, and he was successful.

What if the neighbor made 15 pounds of fudge and gave 12 pounds to you? Would you then LOSE 5 pounds?

I made cookies, one type at a time, spread out over the Christmas Holiday. We ate them as we made them and do not think I gained any weight. I have 9 kids to help eat the goodies, so am lucky to get a small taste of any baked goods.

You are too funny. We didn't get nearly as many treats from friends and neighbors here, either, but I baked plenty for ourselves. I don't even want to know how much I gained. But the push is on to loose - my son's wedding, and you know how many photos will be taken, and kept forever!

I don't need fudge to gain weight. It seems all I have to do is spend time visiting my mom and dad. 1.5 pounds for each day.

I hate Jillian, she is pure evilness. We had so many treats here I wouldn't even look at the scale over Christmas, now I need Jillian more than ever. Its such a love/hate relationship.

Okay, so I am going through and catching up all on your posts and I am freaking laughing at the kid who made the white pointy hat with eye holes!! Serio - lmbo

I actually paid my bff in 7th grade to make my required a-line skirt and vest - I hate sewing just that much!
Sounds like you had a great Christmas and yes - please send the fudge to Jillian with an especially sweet love note from all of us!
