I hate taking my kids to the dentist for that reason alone. Lately it's #3's surgery coming up, every day it seems there's another expense the insurance won't cover. (grr)
I had a dentist and an orthodontist both say that about my son. He then became their experiment child for any FUTURE cases such as his! YIKES! It wasn't a cheap fix either!
I would have to take my kids to the dentist to hear that one! (I know I am evil mother. I have one in braces that is expensive enough I don't wan to add any more kids to the payment plan)
Yikes! Last time I went to the dentist he offered to tell my DH I didn't have any cavities for a small fee. (Our dentist is DH's cousin, and DH had just received a clean slate, whereas I had three cavities. Grrr.)
My Mom was at the dentist and he kept aiming the water jet at a tooth so it was spraying up in a fine mist and getting all over her face. He says "I love how you look with the water beaded up on your face like that".

Yep, I have a Thumbsucker. I already know she will be an orthodonic nightmare!
If the dentist said that to me I would consider letting all of there teeth rot out of there head and buy the dentures that has to be cheaper...Right?
I had that said to me when I went in about my wisdom teeth. i had five.

I just did the dentist visits with 4 kids this last week. When did cleanings become so expensive? I really miss the days of dental insurance!
