Breakfast, take two!

Yesterday morning when Max woke up he immediately came into the kitchen and asked me for his breakfast. I told him that he could have his breakfast as soon as he got dressed and he said "OK mom, but you should fix my breakfast while I'm getting dressed."

He walked into his room and I continued doing whatever it was that I was doing at the time. I didn't fix his breakfast because I had no idea how long it was going to take him to get dressed, and after that toasted frozen waffle gets cold, Max won't touch it.

Just a few minutes later, Max came walking back into the kitchen, fully dressed.
"Where's my breakfast? You were supposed to fix my breakfast while I was getting dressed so I could have it when I came out,"
I said "I didn't fix it yet because I didn't want it to get cold."

Then he threw his arms in the air, turned around, stomped back into his room and said.......

WELL THEN LET'S JUST TRY IT AGAIN!"

Just so you know, Max did not get his breakfast until after he apologized to me for being rude, and then asking for a waffle nicely, using the word "please." (and I may or may not have required him to say "Please dear mother")

My mom doesn't like when I demand her to make breakfast when I'm home either. But really, I'm just trying to make her feel like she's not an empty nester anymore and make up for all her loneliness when I'm gone.

Does demand her work? I can't think right now. I apologize if it's incorrect.

I wish I had a mommy to make me breakfast.

BWA HA HA...That kid is a riot. I would have made him kiss my feet too but only after I stopped laughing.

Had a similar situation here the other day. Doorbell rang, I was at the back of the house and it took maybe 20 seconds to walk to the door. It was my 15 year old son, first thing he said was "It's about time". I asked "I beg your pardon" before relocking the door and closing it in his face. He had to ring twice before I let his sister answer. He was very contrite and apologetic saying he couldn't believe how rude he had been. He was extremely lucky that I was only at the beginning of a pms bout and the worse part hadn't kicked in yet.

What? You're not making your kids say "please, oh most beautiful of the mommas" like I do? Hrmmm...maybe I am asking too much. :)

When I get annoyed with my children, they have to respond to any requests on my part with, "Sure Mom, I'd be happy to." I. love. it.

It's a good thing I'm not totally evil; I could totally see myself as a dictator of a third world country....

Get with it woman! LOLOL! He's lucky he lives there cuz if he was here he'd have been making his own breakfast. I don't care if you are cute as a bug and only sorta 4.... grrrr LOL! Who the heck am I kidding?? I'd have been laughing so hard nobody'd have gotten breakfast after that! LOL! You handled it very well.

WV: SQUIVESI - The act of squirming while one tries to stiffle giggles caused by kids saying things that should NOT be laughed at. As in: I got all squivesi trying to keep Max from seeing that his obnoxiousness was way too cute for his own good.
