Things that are not awesome

1. Noticing that your dishwasher didn't get the dishes clean so you run it through another cycle.
2. Turning on the light on your stove, hearing a pop then discovering that the oven won't turn on.
3. Realizing that since the oven won't turn on, you won't be able to make the cookies that you bought the chocolate chips for.
4. Discovering that your dishes still aren't clean after the second run through the dishwasher.
5. Having the appliance repair man say that the circuit board of your oven has gone out, and upon further investigation, discovering that they don't actually make that particular part any more.
6. Having the appliance repair man take a quick look at the dishwasher only to tell you that it appears that the motor has gone out.
7. Paying the appliance repair man to tell you that your stuff is broken and he can't fix it.
8. Having your kids complain because now the dishes need to be washed by hand.
9. Having a child put too much dish soap in the sink, causing the suds to overflow.
10. Catching that same child trying to get rid of the suds by throwing them in the garbage.
11. Spending the day wondering which appliance will die next.

Nooooooooooo!! That REALLY sucks. But I do love that your child was trying to get rid of the bubbles by thorwing them in the garbage. That's pretty funny--maybe not to you right now--but one day it will be. Promise.

I think appliance repair men really dont know how to fix appliances...Everytime I call them they always say..."Oh, sorry cant fix it!" or "It would be cheaper for you to buy a new one!"

Grrrr....I know your pain! I had this pain last year!! (broken dishwasher, fridge and dryer)

Good luck!!! The only good thing is you will have pretty new appliances! :-)

If you can't use your oven the answer is simple....eat the chocolate chips straight from the bag.

When it rains it pours. Ugh.

On the up side, at least you got lots of Max kisses recently, right?

After being without an oven for almost a year, the washing machine spitting the dummy and the dishwasher having it's own stopwork meetings, I can feel your pain.

I can remember scooping bubbles out of the bath, into the sink and toilet as a kid so I didn't get in trouble for over bubbling the bath.

That is so not cool. Sorry the appliances are revolting against you. :(

But on the positive side, you now have a bag of chocolate chips without a purpose. I'll bet you can come up with something to do with them.

so not awesome!

Your appliances must have been hanging out with mine..I've got a freezer on the fritz. In fact..I have a post scheduled for tomorrow.

Such murphys law though, that they all die together.

Ugh. Not awesome at all. I hope you're soon back in working-appliance business.

#10 is funny, at least.

We had a fire in our house once and it made it so the gas stove clicked all the time. We turned off the auto-light option and use lighters when we need the stove. I just tell my friends it's a European stove. It makes broken sound way more impressive. I wonder what you could remake your dishwasher into so that it's impressive?

One thing that was awesome?! YOU!!

Sorry the appliances don't work. BTDT. The worst we had was a clothes dryer that suddenly stopped working. We didn't have the money for repairs right then so we waited a few weeks. Turns out rats had crawled in through a broken screen in the outside vent and made their home in the dryer. When we turned on the dryer the fan... well... 3 weeks later... when the poor appliance guy opened it up... well, he said we needed to replace the whole unit, and we decided he'd earned his money and agreed completely.

Thats why hubby buys the extended warrantee on all appliances every year. It's $200 a year to cover the fridge, washer and dryer. The dishwasher is only a few months old, so we did not include it this year. For that warrantee, they come out once to make sure everything is working properly. They clean out the lint on the dryer and check to make sure it is reaching the correct temperature for each cycle, they clean out the pump on the washer and last timre replaced all the parts/controls for the ice and water dispenser in the fridge. The warrantee also covers repairs and pparts if any of the covered appliances break during the year. At least one of them needs repair every year, sometimes all 3. :)

That freaking blows.

Totally not awesome.

Amazing how when one goes they all seem to go!

I'm quite concerned for your house this year, the basement flood, kitchen appliances dying by the dozens....they're all signs that you should sell and move to Alaska.
