But I also want to wear THAT shirt!

Dear Preschool teacher,

Yes, Max does own another shirt. In fact he owns several other shirts.

He just really likes this one.

Signed,
Max's Mom

P.S. I promise, I really do wash it from time to time.

My younger son wears the hand-me-down shirts of his older brother. That wouldn't be such a big deal except some of them are monogrammed. I'm sure it confuses people as to why his shirt bears the initials JDC when he's actually a LNC.

Curse Land's End and their free monogramming specials. I just can't resist those four letters F-R-E-E!

I am sure she understands completly!! Unless this is her first year teaching and has no kids of her own. Then is is probably good that you send her a letter :)

Embarrassing, isn't it?

What did she say? How awkward.

That is so cute! That's how I feel about my little guy's puppy. He takes it everywhere he goes. But like you, I promise I do wash it!

Anyone who has been teaching for longer than 5 minutes should already know how often this happens. Big D had 2 pair of hideous pants he used to wear always!

Dear Max's Mom,

Yeah Max told me that you wash the shirt. He says you just stick him in the tub with it on and let him go to town scrubbing away at it. Good Job! It's really improving his fine motor skills!

Sincerly,
Max's Preschool Teacher

JK :)

My kid is like that too!

hee hee...I could have wrote that type of note for my middle child's pants!!!!

My eldest loves to dress himself and I am sure I could have written a note explaining his keen fashion sense! It can be embarrassing!

I am sure teachers see this frequently. At one time or another, all of my kids have gone through this and seem so determined to wear it VERY often and daily if they got their way!

My boys insist the shirt, pants, whatever is not dirty- they just put it on yesterday, 2 days ago, etc.

My second has a mild form of autism. There are some textures and materials that really bug her. She reacts badly to synthetic fibers and prefers cotton. At least she is easy to shop for. 100% cotton t shirts or turtlenecks, cotton shorts or pants, cotton socks.

Rhys has a shirt, "Same shirt, different day." Whoo boy but that applies!
