Actual conversation between me and the kids while wandering through the parking lot at Wal Mart last night at 10:30 pm

Me: "Where did we park? "

Brielle: "I don't know, wasn't it over this way?"

Me: "No, I don't think so, I think it was more over that way. It drives me crazy when we bring Dad's car, because it's harder to find."

Aaron: "I think I remember walking down this way."

Me: "Are you sure? I kind of remember facing south when we parked."

Aaron: "Didn't we park next to a tree?"

Me: " I don't think so, I don't like parking in those spots with the trees."

Brielle: "Why didn't we bring your car mom?"

Me: "I wish we had, then I could hit the button on the keys and the horn would honk."

Aaron: "Maybe it was over on this row."

Brielle: "No, I think it was closer to this entrance."

Me: "What color is Dad's car anyway?"

Brielle: "MOM! You know what color it is, it's silver."

Me: "Or is it more of a gray?"

Aaron: "I'm pretty sure we parked by a tree."

Brielle: "Look over there Mom, that car is just like your car!"

Me: "It does look kind of like my car doesn't it?"

Brielle: "I wish it was your car, then we would know where it was."

Aaron: "Hey Mom! Look at the license plate! That IS your car!"

Brielle: "Oh yeah, we did come in your car!"

If I hadn't brought the kids with me to Wal Mart, I might still be wandering around, looking for the wrong car.....................

Don't judge. It was dark outside.

That happens all the time to 29 year-olds.

I hate when that happens. And you look like such and idiot walking around.

Oh, I never walk around having these conversations. I go right for the mortification jugular on my kids by holding the remote over my head and pressing the panic button till we hit a winner. And I'm only 39. In ten years I'll probably be wearing my panties outside my jeans...

VERY funny! I'm guessing we've all been there, but my experiences didn't involve an argument on the grey vs the silver. The "your car" punchline was a winnder.

Priceless! I have wandered around looking for my car many times. I hate that feeling that everyone knows I can't find my car! It's even worse when you a pushing around a cart full of groceries and finally spot your car 4 rows to the left. :)

I used to lose my car all the time. And then I got married to a man with a handicap placard. I swear, it saves them walking across dangerous parking lots to come in the store but it also saves them wandering around looking for the car after shopping.

hehe--that would NEVER happen to me. Nope--not ever.

Thank you for your admission. I thought I was the only one doing this. I'm more than relieved to find I am not.

I do that all the time! Only my kid doesn't have a clue what I'm talking about, so I end up looking like I'm crazy, wandering around the parking lot talking to myself.

Happens all the time to me, too. Just no hilarious dialogue from my kids to accompany it.

This is why I always park in the same aisle even if it's at the far end somewhere near Montana--I always know I'll find the car. I don't trust my memory anymore.

I swear I have spent 1/2 of my adult life looking for my car in parking lots! It is good to know I am not the only one.

So was the car by a tree, too?

You could do like my son did and forget you even HAD the car and walk home.

Happens ALL the time. I wish that all parking lots had those signs like at Disney so I would know where I had parked. In Dumbo, or Tigger, or Cinderella. It would be so much easier!

I don't want to admit how many moments like that I have had. . .

I did that once, I must have searched for half an hour, and it was a Wal-Mart. I was going up to customer service to report my car stollen when I spotted my wife's car. My first thought was, what on earth was my wife doing in Wal-Mart?

pankle; a mixture of spackle and pancake batter, very versatile you can patch walls or feed your family something that really will stick to their ribs
