Could someone please tell me?

What is it about the mere act of walking into the doctor's office that causes your previously (four four whole days!) feverish, coughing, runny nosed child to be miraculously symptom free?

Seriously, why couldn't his symptoms gone away BEFORE I made the co-pay?

this must be akin to taking your rattling car to the mechanic, and it deciding to run PERFECTLY (until you try to drive away again).

I have observed this phenomenon for years now. I think that germs are in cahoots with the Dr.
s offices. Once the germs see money change hands they leave your child....making you look like a fool when talking to the Dr. only moments later.

I remember once my mom telling me to act sick when I was waiting for the doctor....

Because making the sacrifice of the coinage is what appeases the gods of whoever in charge of snotty, feverish people. Consider it money well spent, in fact it should be considered like money given to a religion in a way. Do you think they have a box for that on the IRS tax forms?

The same phenomenon that causes my heart to beat normally when I go to talk to the dr. about why it's beating erratically.

The man upstairs has quite the sense of humor :)

Yes but only because it took you so long to get in to see the Dr. that your cold went away on its own.

It goes along with calling in the IT guy cause your computer doesn't work and it performs beautifully for him.

I hate that. I picture them writing me up for Munchausen Syndrome by proxy.

Hey, Doctors have to pay their bills, too, you know. Those luxury cars don't pay for themselves.
