Have you ever wondered?

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you used liquid dish soap in the dishwasher?

Or worse, have you ever wondered what would happen if one of your kids wondered what would happen if they used liquid dish soap in the dishwasher?

I now know.

I can't even begin to describe the mess that was on the kitchen floor.

Oh that is so fun! Did it get all over your floor and everywhere? Or was it mostly contained inside the dishwasher?

And now I know why you seem to wash up your dishes by hand (seem to remember reading a few posts on that topic)

I DO know what that is like. I feel for you. We had soap and water in the basement!!
BTY: you have my exact same dishwasher.
PS: I love reading your blog.

No doubt about it. Your children have the minds of scientists. Always experimenting. Hopefully they will get jobs where they get paid to do stuff like that somewhere else!

Crap-a-doodle! I'm glad none of my boys were much into doing the dishes just for this fact!

My kids actually asked me that the other day. I told them not to. I got the "why not?" answer. Now I can show them why not!!

my BIL did that during a party years ago...what fun that was!
Thankfully, my children have never tried that science experiment.

You know, I was just thinking today that nothing funny happens in my life and my blog is suffering. Thanks to you, I'm now good with that!

4 rinse cycles - that's how much water it took to de-suds our dishwasher...

Oh oh, I already knew this. Guess how? Of course, a couple of years ago when we were out of dishwasher soap, my then 11 year-old thought that the liquid dish soap would make a good substitute. It doesn't!

Oh my! when my sister and I were kids it was our job to clean the kitchen after dinner. One night we were out of dishwasher detergent so we filled it with regular dish soap. Oh boy - you could hear my dad yelling across town when he walked into the kitchen and found bubbles 6 inces deep all over the floor! LOL!

OH! My boys still roll with laughter over the time they did that. And, darlin, you are right: there are no words to describe the mess! LOL!

No I don't wonder about that because I did that. When I was in high school. Don't ask.

Several rinses with vinegar will break up the suds. Or table salt. I don't know where I heard that.
