Would it kill you to wait a few more weeks?

This week we are having unseasonably warm temperatures. The kids have been outside rollerblading and riding their bikes. Max has enjoyed swinging on our swing set and jumping on the trampoline.
It just doesn't seem like November 6th.
Last week I realized that there was no way that Max would be able to squeeze one more year out of his winter coat, so we searched through our closet and found Aaron's old coat which I was sure would fit Max. Unfortunately, the sleeves of the coat were too short and the zipper was broken too.
DH had the day off of work today, so we decided to take a trip over to Sears to buy Max a new winter coat.
I didn't realize just how warm it was outside and I made Max wear a jacket. The display in our car showed that it was 70 degrees outside. By the time we made the short drive to Sears, Max was a bit sweaty. I let him leave his jacket in the car and we went into the store.
As we entered the store, we walked past the rack of discounted Halloween costumes and as we turned the corner, all we saw were displays of sweaters surrounded by Christmas decorations and fake snow scattered all over the place.

And then we heard the music....

"Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, Jack frost nipping at your nose."

Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas music, but I have two words for Sears.

TOO SOON!!!!

I don't think I'll be going back there until the end of the month.

What if it were Britney Spears singing it?

Did you end up getting Max a coat? Sams Club had really great snow coats from OshKosh on for $25. We got Marshy one. It has a zip out jacket and detachable hood, too.

I agree with the Christmas music. Too early. Wait til Thanksgiving. :)

It is WAY too early for Christmas Music!

Then you probably shouldn't go any where else either. Christmas decor is already rampant.

I know right? I long for the good old days when they waited until after Thanksgiving. FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!

I think the problem with early Christmas music is that there just aren't any catchy Thanksgiving songs; sure, there's one or two but not enough to pipe into malls or on-air for 24 hours. I lay the blame directly at the feet of the music industry: Give us some peppy songs of Thanksgiving Gratitude!!
