HEY! Don't forget the popcorn!

Thanksgiving afternoon, we decided to go see the new movie MEGMIND.

When we got to the theater, all the shows were sold out. (OK, they weren't actually sold out, there were a few seats available on the very front row on the side, and ever since the last time I sat there for a movie, I refuse to ever sit there again because my neck hurt on one side for a week)

The kids were all very disappointed that we weren't going to see a movie, so I suggested that we stop at Blockbuster and rent a few. When we got there, they had a sale on previously viewed movies, so we bought a few of them.

We've spent a fun weekend watching movies, yesterday we even dug out the Christmas movies. We watched "Home Alone" but Max really liked "A Christmas story" His favorite part is where the kid gets his tongue stuck on the flagpole.

We still need to watch all of the classics that were my favorites when I was a kid like "Santa Claus is coming to town" and "Rudolph the red nosed reindeer"(Not to be confused with Naughty Reindeer) Also, it's been forever since I saw the Charlie Brown Christmas special.

I plan on getting "White Christmas" for the kids to watch, and I've also heard that "Elf" is really good.

What are your favorite Christmas movies? Which ones would you suggest I get for the kids to watch.

I lack whimsy, so I don't love Christmas movies in general. Adam only likes one, A Christmas Story, but fortunately for me, he doesn't watch it regularly. And by "regularly", I mean "twice a day."

I love the quirky, British ones, like "Love, Actually", and "The Holiday." I wouldn't necessarily recommend the first one to kids. Although, I think every parent should be able to have the discussion about how people can meet each other while being extras in porn movies. Good teaching moment.

My incredibly smart, but aparently not very bright 16 year old informed me yesterday that he'd tried the tongue to the pole trick. He wanted to experiment further so I informed him that he could rip all his tastebuds off...let's hope it's enough to deter him...

My family likes Elf. But it kinda makes me crazy. But I bet Max would LOVe it.

Elf is funny. I love It's a Wonderful Life. My family used to watch White Christmas every year, but last year we decided we were getting tired of the same one all the time, so we'll be shaking it up this year.

We like the Santa Clause movies with Tim allen. We like Elf too, but it does have some adoption issues that don't trigger my kids, but might trigger yours.

Deck the Halls with Danny DeVito is a favorite of my kids. Polar Express is beautiful.

If you have a chance to scan the channels and DVR "Year Without Santa Claus", that is a GREAT one to watch. My favorite is Mother Nature.
